Association for Biological research – BIOM held a seminar about possibilities of including birdwatching and birding activities in a touristic offer, especially in protected natural areas. The seminar was a part of a UNDP-COAST program in Croatia and was followed by photography exhibition by Goran Šafarek and Marko Matešic. We participated in this seminar because Vrana Lake Nature Park offers great possibilities for birdwatching and we wanted to learn how to include that in our regular activities for visitors. By the end of seminar, everyone concluded that Croatia is a perfect place for many different birdwatching and birding tours, but main problems are the lack of educated birdwatching guides and incomplete infrastructure. |
